Everyone needs a helping hand at some point in their lives. The time is now!!!
Reach out and make a difference.
I have never posted about political issues but reading the reactions to my posts I had to speak out. The recent events have been devastating to anyone who has a heart. I was not reducing the situation to the aftermath of the protest. I realize that I should have expressed my frustration at what caused it. Injustice and racism cannot be accepted on any level! Black Lives Matter is the priority! I did not mean to offend anyone and I am truly sorry for being insensitive. I realize that by not posting about the reality of the problem I appeared to be trivializing the core issues of social injustice and the way our fellow human beings are being treated. That was never my intention. I was wrong.
We all need to speak out and stand together and be heard!!!
#blacklivesmatter
This is heartbreaking to me. I grew up going to the Farmers Market with my mom and I have taken my daughter there since she was a baby. What do the people who caused this vandalism hope to achieve?
I am angry that they think this is the answer to what they are protesting. This proves nothing. This changes nothing.
This is just an excuse to destroy things!!! #thefarmersmarket #laprotest
There are no words for what is going on in my city, let alone our country right now. The senseless violence and destruction has to stop. No good can come of this reaction. The intention gets lost and everyone looses.
Ringo’s message of Peace and Love should be embraced not desecrated with hate.
Thank you to Scott Ritchie for taking this photo.

On the day Jimmy Stewart passed away on July 2nd, 1997, @lilyjcollins and I bought flowers and wrote a note to his family. I knew where he lived in Beverly Hills and we drove over there and added our offering to the scores of others already left there on his lawn. It was a testimony to the man himself that so many people felt inclined to pay their respects in the same way. We both loved Mr. Stewart and the characters he portrayed in the movies he was in. It doesn’t get much better than his George Bailey in ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’. A true classic! Never in a million years did I expect to receive a note from his family thanking us for our gesture. We were just honoring him in the only way we could think of. Stunned is an understatement and it just reconfirmed what a class act he was and always will be!!! You might be wondering why I posted this now... I have been cleaning out my office and going through over 25 years of accumulated items. I happened to find this and it brought back such a strong memory. I keep everything and it is time to decide what stays and what goes. This is definitely a keeper. At least I still have it all. I will be posting more gems along the way. It takes forever to go through things as I tend to read every card, letter or whatever else there is. It takes hours and hours to go through a pile or two but finding a few items like this one makes it all worth the effort. Anyone else finding treasures in their spare time. We all have a lot of that right now. Might as well make the most of it!!! #jimmystewart #memories

Some more photos from last night’s art adventure!!! Simply stunning visuals!!! πππ #tzprojects #projectangelfood #weho
Last night I went to a very innovative revolving art installation outside at 8070 Beverly Blvd. It runs from 8:00-12:00 and is only on through May 20th. Thank you to @lianaweston and @tzprojects for putting this together. If you get a chance please try and stop by in support. You can view it from the sidewalk, across the street or even from inside your car. Everyone was wearing masks and was keeping their social distances. It was just so nice to get out and be a part of something again!!! #tzprojects #projectangelfood #weho
I bought this giant wood carving at a flea market years ago. It barely fit in my car but somehow I managed to angle it in and I brought it home. It is not my usual style but I fell in love with the colors and the peacefulness that emanates from it. It has stayed on the landing of my stairs ever since and greets me in the morning as I come down and wishes me a good evening when I go back up at night. Sometimes things gravitate to me and I just have to go with it. No regrets on this purchase. To be honest there very rarely are. I do miss being out and treasure hunting but it will be all the more exciting when we are able to again. Who else misses the thrill of the hunt?

So for my 1,000th post here I am taking a break out walking the neighborhood with @lilyjcollins and @redforddog enjoying the sunshine while social distancing. I am sure you are wondering... taking a break from what??? Well I have been doing a lot of clearing out lately which I am feeling pretty good about!!!
It amazes me how much stuff I hang onto from old greeting cards to letters to photos of people whose names I can no longer remember. I also realized that all these things that clutter up my home and my life only hold importance for me. I cannot give someone else my memories. I am the only one that can recall myself wearing an outfit to a specific event no matter how many times I try to recreate verbally what I remember to another person. They will always picture it differently because they were not there nor will they really know the people I am talking about. This may sound like an obvious realization to some but it has taken me a while to realize it. It is freeing actually to be able to let things go and move on. The present is what is important as we never know what the future might hold. I could certainly never have imagined the scenario we find ourselves in today. I will always remember where I have been but it is more important to be now to live in the present and look forward to where I am going.
Do you hold onto things or are you someone who doesn’t care about the physical objects but are content with the mental memories?

Mother Nature works in mysterious ways. I believe that like these trees we all reach for the light in order to grow no matter how many twists and turns life takes.
We may be living in the shadows right now but the sunshine is just up ahead.
HAPPY EARTH DAY!!! #earthday #earthday2020 #lifeinla
Wise words on the sidewalk.
We are living through some very strange times indeed and if you are anything like me, my mind seems to be inclined lately to reminisce about people and events I haven’t thought about in years, especially in my dreams. I find my heart hurts for people who are no longer here or for relationships or events that I wish had turned out differently. Now is a time to protect our hearts as they are at their most vulnerable due to circumstances out of our control. Stay safe my friends... Is anyone else experiencing these thoughts?

Wise words from The Viper Room on Sunset Blvd. This club has quite the history. It was originally a grocery store from 1921 into the 1940’s. It was converted into a nightclub called the “Cotton Club”. This was soon replaced by “The Greenwich Village Inn”, the “Rue Angel” and finally “The Last Call” during the 1940’s. From 1951-1969, the location was a bar called “The Melody Lounge.” Then it became “Filthy McNasty’s”. In the 1980’s, it became a jazz club called “The Central”. The nightclub was close to shutting down before Chuck E. Weiss, who had performed there for years, suggested to Johnny Depp that they revitalize the spot and rename it “The Viper Room”. Tom Waits also has a hand in redeveloping the spot along with Sal Jenco who starred in 21 Jump Street with Depp. At Depp’s request, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers performed on the club’s opening night in 1993. River Phoenix tragically died of a drug overdose outside the club on Halloween night in the same year it opened. Michael Hutchence played his last public performance in the club only a week before his suicide. The Viper Room continues to frequently host metal and punk rock bands. It has been used in many films, tv shows and music videos. However it’s future looks bleak as a massive development is set to take over the entire block of Sunset Blvd on which it sits. Word has it that a re-creation will be resurrected within the new development but it’s soul will never be the same again.
Another iconic location in West Hollywood’s history will be lost forever!!! #theviperroom #sunsetblvd

Just got back from a long walk in West Hollywood. The recently reinstalled
Rocky and Bullwinkle statue makes me smile big time!!! I remember driving by it a million times when I was growing up and to see it back on the Strip is like going back in time. It used to live outside the Dudley Do-Right Emporium further east on Sunset Blvd. It was removed and put in storage for many years.
Welcome back!!! #rockyandbullwinkle #westhollywood #sundayfunday
Social distancing with @lilyjcollins during an afternoon walk. Yes we were wearing masks in case you were wondering. Muffled conversations were shared and no close proximity allowed but it didn’t matter because I got to spend time with my girl!!!
